On 25 March 2025, the Institute of the Helper Sisters celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of the founder of their congregation: Eugenie Smet, whose religious name is Marie de la Providence.

She is the third daughter of a well-to-do family from Loos near Lille. she moved to Paris in 1856 to found an institute that devotes itself unreservedly to the greater glory of God, committing itself above all to those who are forgotten and those who are searching for God.

On this day of 25 March, the sisters and friends of the Helpers remember this energetic, lively and spontaneous woman.
