The Province of Italy celebrated the jubilee of our foundress in the cities of Bergamo, Matera, Turin and Rome with many people: friends of the Helpers, parishioners, work colleagues and many others. The sisters presented the life, personality, charism and spirituality of Eugénie Smet and the founding of the Institute.
So we were able to celebrate together with great joy. And we are grateful for all the apostolic and other collaborations that have developed over the years.
It reaffirms for us that it is good to be present in different places. A celebration like this gives us the opportunity to translate our charism into today’s world and to make it known to many people.
In Hungary, the Province of Central Europe celebrated the jubilee with a pilgrimage. 43 people gathered at Mátraverebély-Szentkút (near Budapest): Sisters from Germany and Austria, Scotland, France and Switzerland, and of course from Transylvania (Romania) and Hungary, as well as many Helper Friends from Transylvania and Hungary who have been journeying with us for a long time.
The different languages (German, English, Hungarian and French) were a challenge, but not an obstacle. At the end, a Helper Friend said: ‘Thanks to the unique language of LOVE, we were always able to understand each other.
