What’s new for migrants in Calais at the beginning of 2026? Two Helper sisters, Françoise and Anne-Laurence, tell us about the current situation.

From 2 to 4 January 2026, 16 Helper Sisters gathered in Paris, at La Barouillère, the mother house of the Institute, to share their commitment to the most forgotten people.

From December 28, 2025, to January 1, 2026, the 48th European Youth Meeting of the Taizé Community took place in Paris. 15,000 young people from all over Europe gathered to pray together for peace and to build a new sense of community together.

Our sisters in Rome share with us an experience that shows how fear and scepticism, which harden the heart, can give rise to an understanding and compassionate heart:

In November, COP 30 took place. This marked a new stage for countries around the world to continue working together to combat global warming. It was held in Belém, in the Brazilian Amazon. A highly symbolic location.

As part of the Holy Year, the ‘Jubilee of Consecrated Life’ was celebrated in Rome from 7 to 12 October 2025. Nearly 16,000 religious from around 100 countries were present in Rome. Some Helper Sisters were also present. Deeply impressed by this event, they share their experiences…

The Bel Espoir (a training ship originally built for the rehabilitation of troubled young people) left Barcelona on March 1st 2025 for an eight-month sailing around the Mediterranean, taking on board young people of all nationalities (14 countries), cultures and religions during its stopovers. A total of 200 young people set sail for days of encounters, dialogue and living together.

Thirty years after the ‘Bread and Roses’ women’s march organised in 1995 by the Fédération des femmes du Québec against poverty and violence against women, and twenty-five years after the World March of Women in 2000, thousands of women converged on 18 October at the Quebec National Assembly for the 6th edition of the World March, this time on the initiative of the Quebec Coordination of the World March of Women. The theme of this latest edition was “Still marching to change the world.”

7 young professed sisters* from Europe gathered in Bergamo for a few days of formation on the vow of obedience. (*Young professed sisters are sisters who have taken temporary vows but not yet final vows.)

In response to Pope Francis’ call, the MAGIS network lauched a large-scale project for the youth jubilee in Rome. Centred on the jubilee week, the proposal was rooted in Ignatian pedagogy, offering a week of experimentation beforehand and/or a week of Spiritual Exercises afterwards.
